Church overseers and trusted shepherds must guard themselves to guard, feed, and guide the congregation who has been purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ. Caring for the flock with willing, diligent service, acting as elders or pastors, requires being a humble example, while following the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 5:2-4, Heb. 2:1-3).
Furthermore, the revelation of the Good Shepherd and His faithful sheep helps us realize that the Church needs guidance, protection, and nourishment, with pastors serving as caretakers of a flock that ultimately belongs to God (Ezek. 34:31, Pro. 11:25).
PRAYER: Dear YHWH and Shepherd of the Faithful, thank You for giving me the grace to serve as an ambassador of the Good and Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, Your Son. Thank you for the priceless blood which you paid for Your Church. Please keep me filled with Your Word and Wisdom of the Holy Spirit, so I may stay equipped to lead many along* the path of Truth and Righteousness; in Jesus' Name,
Amen.
