Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is, "the first to rise from the dead," because He was the first to be resurrected with an imperishable, immortal body, never to die again,(Luke 7:11-17, John 11:38-44, Col. 1:18). Even when some were brought back to life such as Lazarus, those individuals were miraculously restored to their normal, mortal bodies and eventually fell asleep again (Rev. 20:5).
Furthermore, Jesus was raised to eternal, glorified life; He is referred to as, "the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep," serving as the guarantee for the future resurrection of all believers and the only Way (1 Cor. 15:20, Heb. 10:19-20, Rev. 1:5).
PRAYER: Dear Jesus Christ, the Resurrection and Life, thank You for redeeming me from the bondage of sin and death, to live eternally, in Your presence. Blessed be Your Holy Name; for in You I have overcome death forevermore,
Amen!
From Acts 26:23
