CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT

True transformation is an inward work of the Holy Spirit, that brings about the circumcision of the heart, rather than merely an outward physical ritual demonstrating the fulfillment of religious obligations without genuine submission to God (Phil. 3:3). Through Christ, believers experience a, “circumcision made without hands,” which involves putting off the sinful nature and being transformed inwardly by God, fulfilling His promise to circumcise the hearts of His people so that they may live and love Him wholeheartedly, with all their heart and soul (Deut. 30:6, Col. 2:11–12).
Furthermore, circumcision of the heart in the Spirit, emphasizes genuine repentance, humility, and the removal of stubbornness and spiritual hardness, rather than mere conformity to external rules of a religion which can lead to praise from people. It teaches that human effort alone cannot transform the heart to be truly clean; only God, through the work of the Holy Spirit, can bring about this inward renewal and enable a person to live in strong, genuine love and obedience to Him who loves us.

PRAYER: Holy Father and Righteous God, thank You for the circumcision of my heart by Your Spirit, enabling me to love and worship You with all my heart and soul. Please continue to guide me in humility and obedience, keeping my heart pure and my life pleasing to You, so that I may remain steadfast in Your grace and enjoy Your loving presence; in Jesus' Name. Amen.
