KICKING AGAINST THE GOADS

When people are stubbornly resisting Divine direction or rightful authority, which only results in self-inflicted pain, it could be described as: kicking against the goads - derived from an ancient idiom. The metaphor comes from farming, where a "goad" was a sharp, pointed stick used by one to prod and steer their stubborn oxen on to better (Eccl. 12:10-11).
Because God has sworn by Himself, "every knee will bow," struggling against Divine authority and a guiding force endowed to help you, is never wise, because it only shows that one is fighting against their Maker and rejecting every benefit that comes with humility (Isa. 45:23, Acts 5:39).

PRAYER: In Jesus' Name, thank You, Heavenly Father and Omnipotent God, for keeping me humbled and submissive to Your Word, Divine will, and ultimate authority, through the presence of the Holy Spirit who helps with all I need to stay faithful. Please continue to direct my paths and guide me into loving thoughts; forevermore,
Amen.

From Acts 26:14
